This course has been specially developed by DDK CONSULTING for CAD users, knowledgeable in other CAD applications, who need to work efficiently and comfortably in the MicroStation V8 2D environment. During this course you will learn about the work environment and become familiar with the fundamental MicroStation 2D tools needed to produce quality designs in a productive manner.
No prior MicroStation experience required. Length - three days.
MicroStation V8 represents a major evolution in CAD software. It is designed to work in a heterogeneous design environment where files created in non-MicroStation formats can be opened, modified, and saved without time consuming translations. It was created to give its users the ability to work in hybrid DGN/DWG environments where file translation is no longer required and DWGs can be attached as reference files.
The course will begin with a discussion of the MicroStation workspace and the Graphic User Interface (GUI). We will then explore in more detail the tools used for design creation and modification. We will experiment with the powerful text annotation and dimensioning tools. Finally we will cover the options for plotting designs and saving V8 design files to MicroStations J, SE, or 95 and to the AutoCAD format for use by non-MicroStation organizations.
Among the topics covered in this course are:
